Bullitt Reservation Visioning Session and Site Walk June 14th, 1-3 PM, Free, Ashfield The Trustees of Reservations recently received a donation of 265 acres in Ashfield and Conway from the Bullitt foundation in Ashfield. The land will be open to the public as a new reservation in 2010. Area residents are invited to contribute their ideas in planning for the use of the property. Come join the staff for a site walk and visioning session on Sunday, June 14th from 1-3pm. Regional director Jocelyn Forbush says, “All are welcome. It’ll be a great chance for you to share your thoughts and ideas for the future of this beautiful, publicly-accessible conservation property.” To attend the event, please RSVP: 413-532-1631 x 13 or pvregion@ttor.org. Heritage Landscape Inventory Program Informational Meetings
- Friday, June 19th, 9am to 10:30am at the Williamsburg Grange Hall. DCR Commissioner Richard K. Sullivan, Jr. will be launching the partnership at this first workshop.
- Wednesday, June 24th, 5:30pm to 7pm at the Sunderland Town Offices.
Participation in the Heritage Landscape Inventory Program will provide communities with an opportunity to assemble residents from a diverse range of backgrounds to identify special places and work toward strategies to help proactively protect the natural and cultural resources that help to define the character of their communities. These workshops will provide an overview of the Heritage Landscape Inventory Program, the goals and methodology of the Connecticut River Valley Reconnaissance Survey, the work of the program in this region to date, and why your community should consider applying to participate. Elected officials, municipal staff, and volunteers concerned about community land use and resource protection efforts are all encouraged to attend. A cash match is NOT required to participate in the program!

Franklin Land Trust's 21st Annual Farm & Garden Tour
Franklin Land Trust holds its 21st annual tour of private gardens, working organic farms, and special places of Deerfield, South Deerfield and Whately June 27 and 28. This year's self-guided tour also includes a special bike-friendly route for those who prefer to take the tour on bike. In addition to the farms and gardens, the tour includes, open studios, admission to the Pocumtuck Valley Memorial Association's Memorial Hall Museum, Warm Colors Apiary, and visits to Historic Deerfield's Stebbins House, Historic Sheldon House, Flynt Center of Early New England Life and more.
Tickets are $20 and valid throughout the weekend. FLT members get a $5 discount. A catered lunch will be served both days at the Deerfield Inn; lunch tickets are $15 and must be purchased in advance. For more information or to reserve tickets, call 625-9151 or visit www.franklinlandtrust.org.
